A tall tapered pillar sitting on a square pedestal engraved with a dedication and the names of the fallen men of Annbank and Mossblown parishes who fell in the two world wars. The pillar has relied sculptures of a broadsword on both the front and back.
The hedge has been cleared away and you can now see the memorial from the road, The council should have maybe placed this in the centre of the village. wheelchair access would be hard here. They have got my friend, Barry Dempsey on the memorial, which is nice to see his name there.
The Memorial is a very steep gradient to get to. Residents in 55 Annbank Road have cut down all their trees. The Memorial can now be seen from road. It has been an ongoing saga betwee south Ayrshire council and Mossblown Community Council trying to have the war memorial relocated to the Toll in village. This is at the four way intersection. More appropriate and far easier access. But..... as per usual NOBODY has any money for this to happen. Been going back and forth now for 5 years+
Very steep hill where old people would struggle but beautiful monument
Not good access esp wheelchair was supposed be moved outside graveyard on level ground +be seen not hidden as now
