Just home after four nights at the old forge, the welcome from our hosts Harvey and Roberta was warm and friendly, the bread, milk, butter and a lovely home made cake was a very welcome surprise and such a thoughtful touch. The cottage is beautiful in a pretty garden complete with a gentle stream and beautiful views of the hills, at night the chatter of owls outside, but perfect peace. The cottage was lovely and clean with a well stocked kitchen, where you could easily make most kinds of meals, a nice little bathroom with a good shower, and a pretty, relaxing bedroom...the most comfortable bed I ever slept on, oh and the log burner was total bliss, so much so that I used up all of the wood 😁 The local area is very pretty with friendly locals, a great pub with lovely food at the bottom of the lane ( we didn't get to try the very close Black bull) a great little post office, come local shop and a brilliant butchers. We were really sorry to leave and hope to return next year, any time that I need to relax I will always think of our stay at the old forge.

Spent Christmas in this cosy, little cottage in a small village near Conwy, North Wales. The owners had left us with bread, milk, butter and 'Bara Brith' as welcome gifts. The log fire proved to be a hit and even though it had quite an appetite, the fuel left for us was sufficient for a week in the depths of winter. The kitchen is fully equipped, functional and clean as are the other parts of this well presented cottage. There are numerous walks on the doorstep and a multitude of sites and sights but a short drive away. The cottage's library incudes several visitor and walking guides. The local pub is a 2 minute stroll. At the time of writing (Christmas 2017) they were not serving food. A perfect couple's retreat with friendly and helpful owners, recommended.
