Remote car park overlooking the Cregennan lakes. A good starting point for hiking around the area.
Too busy for my liking, used to be a quiet place but now attracts too many. One person walked their small dog across the carpark and grass that has a lot of sheep and rabbit droppings on it and promptly put the dog up on one of the picnic table tops that other users would be unknowingly using afterwards.
Love to visit the lakes however the drive to get to it is a little nerve wracking. Lots of 1 track narrow road and if you meet on coming traffic it can get a little hairy. However once you arrive and if you climb a little on foot the views down to Barmouth are breathtaking. Only downside is if the public toilets are closed the ladies are in trouble...
This place is stunning! Lovely walk up the mount to catch a view of it all or just walk around both the lakes. Sign posted and safe. There are picnic tables and toilets available for the public. The road is VERY narrow with hardly any give way spaces, I wouldn’t advise coming in big motor homes at all. It’s very nerve wracking, especially if you have zero experience on country roads. Big car park which is free to park all day. No over night camping.
Beautiful spot. Narrow bendy roads to reach it from Arthog.
