90 Dirty Adventures Land Rover Driving Experience (07/30/2018)
Didn't actually stay in the cottage but went to visit with someone who has. Its very cosy and traditional in a remote location. I'm seriously thinking about staying there in the future. It looks lovely.

Fabulous memories for 3 generations of my family staying in this truly idyllic, magical little house. Impossible to over praise this place. I dream of returning day.

The cottage is perfect for a genuinely rural and secluded "get away from it all" experience. It is a 20-30 minute drive on a very rural (paved) road through farmland away from the nearest small village (Arthog/Dolgellau). The last 150 metres or so is down a steep unpaved driveway. We managed it fine in a rented SUV car with reasonable ground clearance and would probably be fine in a normal hatchback car (taken very slowly/carefully to avoid grounding), but I definitely wouldn't want to drive a low/sports car down there! The cottage has clearly been a labour of love for some time for the owner and it has fantastic rural charm. There is a large downstairs room, with log burner, plenty of seating and a large dining table/chairs. There is a small shower room/WC near the door. There is also a small but well equipped kitchen area. Upstairs there are two well sized bedrooms (one double, one twin), which are separated by a small partition wall. The property was surprisingly well insulated (no damp or draughts despite the property's age) and the electric heaters were effective in the living room/bedroom, but be aware that there was no heating in the kitchen or bathroom (save for a fairly effective fan heater in the bathroom). The log burner in the living room was a great feature and provided some additional warmth to the house. There is also a wood shed / garage and ample parking space/field outside the property. The owner was very easy to communicate with and gave very detailed instructions on everything you would need to know about the place (he manages it remotely, so gives you safe and padlock codes for the keys). Overall a fantastic rural retreat in an great location. We would definitely visit again.
