M&S Simply Food

DON'T GO HERE!! This is my local shop and I have been going here for over 10 years, the staff used to be so friendly, however not anymore!!! Absolutely disgusted by some of the staff and their behaviour towards customers!! We are currently in a tier 2 just coming out of the 2nd lockdown, and all staff indoors should wear a facemask or covering at all times!! (check gov website) I work in healthcare and have experienced Covid deaths and other nasty stuff that comes with it first hand. None of the staff are adhering to the government guidelines for Covid!! They have screens up at the tills that 'protect' the customers in some way, however after I made my purchase, I asked Bianca, the lady behind the till why she and her 4 other colleagues behind the plexiglass were not wearing any facemask, considering that they were standing close next to each other and not keeping any social distancing in any way from each other? I said I worked in healthcare and that I deal with people getting infected by Covid everyday and that they should adhere to the local covid guidelines. (I was not being rude in anyway btw!) I got an extremely rude comment back!! Ticking on the plexiglass (with a 'I know it all' face) she said '' this protects me. I said, what about your colleagues? she answered very rudely '' We are all in a bubble''. I said ''really?'' There are rules in place and you should all adhere to these''. She replied '' I don't care, Its not my problem'', it's all made up (or something in those words) I said ''So when you get infected and ill, you expect us to care? Because I was so stunned by her unempathetic, careless behaviour, I replied with a shocking ''WOW'' as I was already shaking of anger of her rudeness and tone that she was speaking to me with. I walked away, because I would've gotten into trouble if I stayed there any longer. An older staff member walked in my directions towards the exit and I asked him if he was the manager, he said no, I asked if he heard what was said to me and he said 'yes' with absolute embarrassment through his face. I told him that I found it a disgrace that, that was the attitude in the shop while we had 414 death today alone and other businesses like pubs, restaurants and shops have to close because they can't adhere to the guidelines. People losing their jobs/houses, and all while she is working, not giving a damn about others or the people that have lost their lives. Because frankly if she did, she and her colleagues would be wearing a face covering!! I am fuming! This shop hasn't been adhering to any law or guidelines and I am not shocked that Redbridge is a hotspot for the virus. If I was the manager I would shut the place inside until all staff are adhering to the rules and law, or send those home who are not!!! 1.6 million people unemployed. I think Bianca and her colleagues should give their jobs and pay to those that have lost theirs in this pandemic and do care instead. I hope the council and BP take action. I am fuming!

I have been using this fuel station for the past 5 years - and there has never been a issue, and the staff have always been very welcoming and helpful. One of the best experiences I have had at a fuel station.
