Beautiful old church in a beautiful setting. Combine this visit with a walk to the Mary Jones memorial and if you feel energetic and have the time, continue with the Mary Jones walk to Bala, some 21 miles away. You'll see some of the most outstanding scenery in Wales for your pains.
extremely secluded church, very old and beautiful. i used the car park opposite as parking for a bike ride up Cadir Idris, very limited but it's a quiet enough place that it isn't an issue.
Lovely old church in a stunning location, a great place to visit
If you are visiting Castell-y-Bere, you really HAVE to stop by and see this beautiful little church. There is a car park across the road from it with public toilets. The church itself is beautiful and there is a small display in the back room with a quilted three-dimensional model of the local landscape. It is really quite stunning.
We first discovered this magnificent church and valley in the late 20th century when staying at a b&b near what we affectionately termed "Merlin's Castle." We returned several times with our children in tow and would recommend visitors investigate the entire area, including "Bird Rock" and the inn at Tal-y-Llyn (hope we have that right!)
