Bought a tablet from here, we opened it and realised that it was smaller than expect so on the same day we took it back. The sales assistant inspected the tablet and then took it to his manager, when he came back to us he said we couldn’t return it because we had opened the box and it’s against their refund policy and pointed to the back of the receipt. I asked how can you decide if a product is suitable without looking at it and he shrugged his shoulders. If the manager and sales assistant had actually read the refund policy it doesn’t say anything about not opening an item. Effectively this store is operating a no refunds policy and have no idea about the actual policy. I took the item to another store and got a refund with absolutely no issues.

Unprofessional , Time wasting, and very unpleasant experience yesterday ( the name of the manager Hanifer) A friend offer me a gift a set of hair pods And text me the details to pick the order including :collecting number the email the confirmation everything . He pick this Argos storage for the convenience distance to my benefit This new Young man looked and behaved like he was in training or work experience Hanifer came to give support to him She said no me sorry but I am going to have the card details for this order I have explained that was a gift . And offer a solution to remedy the situation By trying to call the friend ( the conection was poor ) I had to step out of the shop to make the call. I return with my friend on the line to finish the procedure . She made me wait ... Came smiling full of attitude and reply You have to contact costumer services now I am so sooty I cannot help you anymore . She no even acknowledge That I have the friend with card details and any necessary information I had to attend work and it was starting to run of my time ( this was a essential tool for facilitate my work , a gift for a friend ordered in purpose to that location to facilitate time ) I left frustrated , felt that I was in playground surround my kids playing around . And she Refuses to give me the product Conclusion Argos you have Lost 2 clients . And £136.00 I rated 1 star because didn’t have 0

Came here about 2/3 years ago. Brought the Samsung Galaxy S5. Very Naively accepted the display model and apparently a note was made on my receipt. The phone had issues a week later. Took into the store and the manager basically kicked me out without listening. The store manager at the time was a big black guy, very intimidating. Never will use Argos again and wish I made a bigger deal of it at the time but I guess the manager was aware I was young so thought he could take advantage. How can people like this be working in a customer service role?

My son had saved to buy his Nintendo Switch. After a few weeks one of the controllers fell apart . I managed to put it back together noting it's poor construction . Two weeks later it fell apart again with my son in tears. I took it back to my nearest store as instructed by Argos expecting an exchange. I explained what had happened to the first assistant and was told that the damage was caused by the user. She called her colleague over. He took one summary look and said he agreed. The young man then suggested I take it back to the store of original purchase (Brixton). During the course of our conversation he kept on referring to me as "mate". Under normal circumstances I would have ignored this but given my annoyance at the 'expert' opinions I mentioned it. I asked him not to refer to me as his mate. I asked to speak to the manager about the return. She too was an electromechanical expert and could not see how the switch's controller could be damaged other than missuse. She went away to get details of Nintendo's returns policy. While waiting, the young man returned the faulty controller. He again called me mate. I shouted at him about repeatedy calling me mate. The manager returned saying she would call security. I have used Argos for almost 40 years and never had any issues. I will try my utmost to avoid them in the future.

4:22pm at 5th january 2021 merton sainsbury argos store. Argos staff had not been helpful , I tried to explain what I am after but they frustrated me for 30 mins not giving out information and only fobbing me off to Webchat online when I asked for help if they can lookup who to talk with or on this Information issue . I was told that they not responsible and can’t find out of information who I should talk too or contact nor can they help. I said if I can lookup why can’t they do so either and I get response that’s nothing to do with then as all that staff working from home. When I asked they to take payment online via cards than also a voucher payment should be taken for payment otherwise why keep selling them then if no one gives out offical policy on it ? it needs to be offered differently or advised yo people when they buy it . The colleagues around from different sides with no information or clue what was going on I had with that person dealing with my quest bummed into the conversation without really understanding and raising their voices towards me with irrelevant statements and saying i am arguing and were trying to fob me off citing national lockdown instead of being understanding or engaging in concerned customer focused way . I then pointed out to the guy that he is unreasonable as he lets others involved on a issue I am trying get a helpful answer . Suddenly he stated I am abusive, rude, attacked and patronising towards him . His colleagues then made up stuff about me being unhelpful not following orders and called for store security . I then asked for their names in that time it was 25 minutes into the discussion they said they don’t have to give me any names or name of manager either and I should look up online . I said they can help me with that which he refused and infuriated agitated me more personally that point I said that I been working 20 years in customer service and know what they doing is completely non customer friendly, I pointed further out that the person behind is with me an witness to this when they tried to chase him away. The guy said he will end the conversation and left leaving me more stunned and speechless also indirectly insulting me for having pointed out the shortcomings on service. By then they got a Security-guard to heckle me out while I sat at the bench to write up my complaint I get interrupted by the last again who called on security guy patronising tone me how bad it be an example I am setting by being rude to argos staff to the boy who accompanied me . I told them they all ganged up and bullied against me for nothing making them understand why card payment is working but not for voucher . They called store security for questioning them on their efforts not to assist me. It’s ridiculous to believe that u chase customers out for store asking questions like name and manager name and wanting a proper explanations. I didn’t see any of them wear argos name tag on their clothing . as one company you should know procedures if not get on duty manager to help or explain or make attempt of ownership to find out and not just fob off customers or bully them and insulting demeanour/ humiliation tactics then by agitating / escalating it further in all aspects dealing with a inquiring but challenging customer that’s absolute is a customers service failure and gives bad reputation to all hard working colleagues who go above and beyond to provide good customer services and are being let down by this type of incidents . I went around and spoke to duty manager Jack who said argos manager is jasmine more info can be obtained at customer care . I went there and found manager Anna and roger who were putting up displays at entrance that time . Spoke to Anna who patiently listened to me for change whom I said how bad the service and personally insulted I felt by their colleagues behaviour. she promised to investigate and call me back next day but so far not received that call or text or voice message . Very dissatisfied/ angry and dissapointed!
