I am only posting this review in response to some very undeserved low scoring appointment reviews. If we attend a property for an inspection, it costs us time and money. We offer free quotes, so we do not make an income from inspections. If clients are not present when we attend, we cannot be blamed for such. Missed appointments are a part of our industry & we accept that. What we do not accept, is a bad review on here (pulling down our overall score) because the alternative arrangements (ie another roofing company) that led to missing an appointment have proven unreliable & now our services are required once again after being ignored. May we suggest that if clients find alternative companies to carry out works before our appointment, please be courteous and inform us so we do not waste our time. This scenario always pops up at busy times for the roofing industry.. consistent with alternative companies being too busy to fulfil their quotes/work quota, and leading to clients who ignored our appointment the first time around, deciding they do actually need our services after all. If that happens, please don't blame us if we decline to attend after a missed appointment the first time around.. and certainly don't then leave a bad review! Doing so is just unfair.

Made an appointment. Roofer did not show up. No telephone call made by company. Left message to follow up if the roofer was coming. No telephone call for two weeks. Phoned again. Receptionist said they turned up but no one was home. Wife and I were both home. Did not hear a knock or telephone call to check. Did not receive a telephone reply to my message. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but instead of being apologetic and taking responsibility for the company she laughed it off. It is a shame as I wanted to use a local company and heard about the company through word of mouth.

Barris Roofing is a very professional company and they did excellent, quality work for me on three occasions. A few years back, a complete new roof on our terraced house, then a year later a new flat roof on a small extension and just yesterday repaired a leaking gutter/downpipe the next day after calling them. All work was done to the highest standard and reasonably priced. It is clearly a well run family company that cares about the quality of their work. I rarely write reviews but on this occasion I wanted to help others to find a good, reliable company and to rebut some of the others reviews on here.

Tried to get a quote from Barris roofing over summer to repair or replace our roof. Was a very challenging company to deal with. To try and get a quote I emailed (with a set of photos of the property). For the first quote attempt we arranged an hour window. No one appeared, I called the office and was told the estimator was on another job and couldn't make it for two hours. For the second quote attempt I enlisted a family member who could stay for longer in case the estimator was delayed, however when he turned up and looked at the property he said he would need a drone which he didn't have with him. For the third quote attempt having called the office and complained we were told that this could be done without us there as they only needed a drone to look at the roof. This was arranged for the next week, I called a few days after the date to see if we could have the quote, however it couldn't be found. I ended up chasing the quote for a week before finding out that the drone used for quoting was in repair and actually no one had gone to the property. At this point it was over a month later and I gave up trying to get a quote. All in all a very frustrating and stressful experience. Edit - Thank-you for the response. I'm sorry to hear that there have been ongoing personal health issues for you and your family and my sympathies are with you. In the future I would recommend being more transparent about this (where possible), to enable your customers to understand.

Had them come round fix my chimney after we were getting a leak come through to our bedroom. Did a fair assessment, actually explained the problem to me (unlike other people who I got to do quotes) and laid out a time scale to complete the work, which they were totally compliant with. Found the price fair in comparison to the range of quotes I received and having known someone they did work for who recommended me the company, found them to be totally reliable and trustworthy. Would highly recommend.
