Lewis Pharmacy

I have used this pharmacy for many years. At the end of 2019 it was fully refurbished, tastefully taking into account the listed building status of the shop, and in my view this has been a big improvement. There is now a clear uncluttered area at the front of the shop where customers can wait, which has proved really useful following the covid-19 requirement for social distancing. The previous pharmacist retired at the time of the refurbishment, and the new pharmacist has proved herself to be helpful and efficient.

I really like this pharmacy! Quick service, no queue and they always seem to have my medication is stock while the chains keep we waiting and then tell me they dont have any. Very cute little shop too!

Very rude staff and don't know what they're doing. Wish another pharmacy would open around that area so that they wake up. Would not waste my penny there.

It took over 4 weeks for my repeat prescription to arrive, with several visits to pursue. Initially it seems the prescription request went to my old GP which is not the fault of the pharmacy. I am grateful that they gave my an emergency asthma inhaler. With my correct GP details I have no understanding of where the problem lay between the Lewis and the surgery. The surgery gave me dates of when they had sent the prescription. The latest was that it arrived with Lewis on March 3rd. Having heard nothing (at any stage) from Lewis I visited again on March 6th and I was told the item was on order. Lewis told me initially that prescriptions take 3 working days - they did not tell me it would take a further 3 working days for them to dispense. I am very surprised that an item as commonly required as a sulbatomol inhaler is not a stock item. I understand that mistakes happen. My feedback is concerned with the attitude on the part of Lewis when I complained on several occasions that something had gone wrong. I was met with a dismissive response as if I had no grounds for dissatisfaction. When I finally received my prescription after 4 weeks I invited them to express some sort of apology or at least regret for the failures of the system. The response was to point out that I was free to go to another pharmacy and to walk away from the conversation. Regardless of whatever went wrong with the system the individual concerned at Lewis would benefit from retraining in customer care in what is a public service.,

I was a few days ago in this really shabby pharmacy, it's really dirty, the very slow service leaves something to be desired, and the staff especially the cashiers are really rude, a staff person looked at me in a very rude way as if I had the leprosy! and as if that wasn't enough she refused to serve me and called another person! I will never go back!
