Good steak, but very long the wait time. Make sure you come in early... specially if you come with kids

Having been a regular at the 'original' Harrods Steak House, where we could pick our cut from the meat counter and sit around the bar I'm afraid to say that the new redevelopment now serving as 'The Grill' has dropped both standards of service and quality of food. We were so excited to return, hopeful it would be much better, sadly it's gone down hill. The service wasn't great, I had to remind the waiter twice that we had ordered drinks and would like them before the meal arrived. They came at the same time. I asked for some tooth picks, the waiter never returned and so 5 minutes later or so I asked another waiter. The food, well.... not being able to select the meat before ordering now means you get what you're given. My partner and I both agreed that the Wagyu Fillet wasn't as good as it used to be and I even had to question the cut as it was rather fatty and I left some on the plate (which I'd never usually do!) Despite the issue with drinks and slow service, the 10% charge was still added as standard. Overall, it's fair to say that we shan't be going here again unless we hear things return to how they were. You've made a big mistake here Harrods! What you had before was on a small scale of great quality. You tried to fix something in our eyes as the customer that wasn't broken!

A quick trip to London this weekend brought us to Harrods Food Hall where we sat down to a delicious steak at the Harrods Steakhouse. This is our first visit to the Harrods food court and it was a great experience! We both ordered a 200 g fillet , I had the béarnaise sauce and my wife I had mushroom sauce, both steaks cooked a perfect medium rare with sides of mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and a nice salad. We enjoyed a glass of wine with our meal which was also very nice. The whole experience was wonderful, the ambience and food were all amazing, lots of history in this place and the food hall was full of people enjoying there Sunday afternoon . The butcher was very helpful with the selection of our steak and the gentleman serving us was very friendly with great suggestions as to what we should do with our time in London, overall it was a great experience! Prices were a little bit steep but you always pay for quality!
