We had a leaking flat roof on our back extension which was 22 years old. We asked the company to inspect the property, which they did the next day. Their representative explained the problem and gave us three options, for 1) repair of felt and lead flashing, 2) fitting a replacement roof with new felt and new lead flashing, 3) fitting a replacement roof with glass fibre material. Each option was explained and there was no pressure to choose one in particular, only good advice. We asked to have the roof replaced with felt and lead flashing. The job was booked to start two days later. Two roofers worked for two days. They arrived early each day, explained what they were doing throughout the work, and were very hard-working. They were polite and tidied up as best they could during the work. They made good and tidied up very well when it was completed. We were extremely happy with the result, and the work represented good value for money. It was been guaranteed for 10 years

Shields Installations was one of three roofing companies I contacted for an estimate to recover a flat roof on the extension at the back of the house. It was last recovered some 20 odd years ago and so was, in the normal course of things, due for some TLC. Shields, a local company, sent a representative straightaway and their estimate arrived by email within the hour! It was not the cheapest estimate received but their specification was certainly higher than the others. I accepted the estimate and they were able to start the work the following week. They arrived on time, kept me informed throughout as to what was happening and were able to deal with an unforeseen problem that arose when the old felt was stripped off. Their roofing work was of a very high order, they arrived each day at the time they said they would and went to great lengths to clear the rubble at the end of the work. All in all, they did a very professional job and guaranteed the work for 15 years.

Shield provided an excellent and efficient service. As a landlord I need contractors that turn up on time and get the job done fast. Shield did exactly that and I will be using them again if I have any roofing issues.

Shields installations ltd carried out works to my next door neighbours house by renewing the lead to her chimney. They did such a good job that I asked if they could check my roof as it was in such a bad condition that virtually half my slates had slipped or broken, the ridges where loose, the zinc flashing had blown and also I had no felt in my roof. Their head office got their estimator to come and carry out a full survey of my roof to assess any damage, FREE of charge might I add. Needless to say my roof was in a bad state as I had already knew. The estimator gave me a full quotation the same day in writing with what was wrong with the roof, the price and the time scale needed to fix the works. Due to the scale of works meaning a new roof was needed. They had offered me in kind service FREE of charge new guttering around the whole property which meant I saved a good few hundred pounds on labour and materials (very pleased). A few months later I decided to have my kitchen extension roof renewed which was mineral felt and had cracked causing damp. Shields offered a cheaper solution using a new system of Fibre Glass Roofing. This meant new timber boarding and a new GRP fibre glass membrane, which I might add was a little apprehensive to start with but my gosh, what a finish. They also gave me a DISCOUNT as I had used them before. I am so happy with the works they carried out, they were neat and tidy throughout. They respected neighbours parking. They were as quiet as possible. And the best part is they did what they said they were going to do and exceeded my expectations at a cost that is very cheap in my eyes and I should doubt that their price would be beaten (by a cowboy maybe, but only a fool would use a cowboy and not a legitimate and established company such as this).
