Enchanting and dog friendly - even on a chilly November day. Staff were incredibly knowledgeable and affable, coffee was strong, hot and reasonably priced. Really enjoyed all the follies - looking forward to coming back for the maze, and some St Clements cake.

Delightful morning visiting the gardens for the first time. Quirky, inspiring, elegant, charming but also practical and fruitful! Full of enchanting features along the garden walks ... Soon celebrating 250 years of the original garden. Highly recommended for all ages. Cafe and small plant sales ☕

I visited for an outdoor theatre production, which was excellent. The location is very pleasant and with the sun setting through the trees it was quite beautiful. Unfortunately there was not enough light on the path on the way out, resulting in some struggles as people realized they were walking into total darkness and stopped to search for a mobile phone to shine light on the ground.

Don't expect pristine manicured gardens, but do expect the most interesting and enchanting project to bring back a vision of the past. This is work in progress, building back a rococo garden with follies, straight lines and lots of up and down. Lots of work has been done already, the rosemary hedges, the espaliered fruits, but the work in progress is part of the charm. Small car park, lovely little tea shop, basic loos and a children's playground away in the woods. Good Covid precautions.

Great place for a family visit. We did the Christmas trail which entertained our three year old and motivated her to walk around the garden!
