Avoid this company at all costs. I recently experienced the worst customer service I have ever experienced by a company. I wish I had read these reviews first.
Earlier this month, Got Rental Cars ruined the start of my family holiday, cost me hundreds of pounds and caused untold levels of stress and inconvenience
In short, a day before leaving for a family driving holiday across France, it cancelled by email (without my consent) the car hire I’d booked nearly a month before, leaving us (with three small children) completely abandoned, unable to find any alternative hire
It then completely and deliberately ignored all my efforts to get in touch. In total, it failed to answer or respond to:
— Seven phone calls
— Four answerphone messages
— Four emails (which I know it read because of email tracking)
It was the height of the summer holiday season in the south of France and there was not a single other car available to hire anywhere. I was supposed to be driving to stay at three remote destinations across France between Marseille and Paris
In the end we had to pay £300 for a taxi to our first destination and then wait three days at this remote place without a car before there was another car available through a different company.
And I had to persuade a friend to waste a morning of their holiday to drive me back to Marseille airport to pick it up. The replacement car was £300 more expensive for three days less hire
Since repeatedly complaining upon my return Got Rental Cars has completely ignored me.
As it happens, I am the Consumer Affairs Correspondent of The Times newspaper and I’ve written an article to warn people never to use this company.
If it is prepared to treat someone with a platform to expose its bad practice so badly, I dread to think how it would treat people without such a platform.
For the sake of your sanity, AVOID
This is another example of a rogue company which will make every effort to make it hard for you to get your money back in case of cancellation or any other reason. Moreover, once you submitted your payment card details they will do whatever they want with it as they make it nearly impossible to contact them. It looks that the "company" operates with about 3-4 employees, they call themselves "agents"
They do not return the calls, they so not listen to their voicemail messages you left and they do not keep their promises to refund you straight away. This sort of operating is similar to Goldcar.
STAY AWAY. CHOOSE DEFFERENT COMPANY FOR YOUR PIECE OF MIND!

Terrible customer service - the worst I have ever experienced in a car hire company. Booked a car but the voucher came back with the wrong collection time. I spent 4 days trying to contact them and their subsidiary via email and phone but to no avail. I was only able to sort it out after countless calls, stress and finally someone in Italy getting on the phone to them. When I actually collected the car from their subsidiary at Sicily airport - B-Rent - I was made to sign for the existing damage to the car without being able to see the car! When I said I wouldn't do that, he simply said I could leave without the car then and lose all my booking pre-payment - £300!! Always go with one of the bigger brands in Italy and avoid these guys
I've booked a car for my holidays in Sicily which I'm on right now, the booking was made in January for a decent price of £257 for an estate car.
2 weeks before my trip I've logged in to my account at Gotrentalcars.com to see that my rental company has been changed from Joyrent to Sixt but the price was still showing £257, just to make sure everything is OK I've messaged them as it's next to impossible to get them on the phone, unless you ring US office which will refer you to the UK agents anyway, as a response I was told that Joyrent has not survived Covid19 therefore they've transferred me to Sixt and I'll receive the new voucher soon. But after receiving new voucher it was for a whooping £740, thought it was a mistake, after another phone call to the US I was told that someone from the UK will ring me next day, not happened for four days, eventually I've had a phone call to find out that I need to pay £740 if I want the car, even though it was against their own T&C's which I've pointed out, but they seems not to respect them as I was given the option either to pay extra or cancel which was putting me under pressure 9 days before my holidays as the prices for cars in Italy went up by nearly 300%, this is why I book well in advance as the price according to their T&C's is being locked on the day of booking and receiving the voucher which I've already had printed, and regardless of changes in prices on the website after my confirmed booking. Luckily I've managed to get a car for a decent price from a small local company and cancelled my booking online however the money has been taken from my credit card regardless, again Luckily I've got my money back today.
Just to sum up, they don't even respect their own rules not mentioning customers, contact with them is next to impossible whichever way you try, total disregard to the hard working people paying their wages.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE FRAUDSTERS!!!
Total garbage.
Never picked up the phone.
If you have iasues, they cannot be reached.
