Plas Newydd Tearoom

I wish I took some photos of the food I was served. I chose the French Onion soup and Veggie Roll, and had a Hot Chocolate to drink. A relative had the Lamb Cawl I think it's called. Well, the food was remarkably delicious. The ingredients were high quality and most importantly it is all cooked fresh to order hence the 10 minute wait (very reasonable wait time too for a fresh meal). The Veggie Roll is apparently a favourite - it's now my favourite. Fresh pastry, so soft and crumbly, and filled with vegetables. Beautiful. However, it's not just the food that makes this place deserve a 5 star rating. It's the service. The lady who welcomes you is one of the nicest people I've met, ready to enlighten you about the Ladies of Llangollen. It sounds very interesting and I will be back to explore the house once it's reopened. Likewise the gentleman who serves you at the till is probably the best waiter I've ever met. Polite, conversational, helpful. The place is full of genuinely friendly people. In a society where genuine friendliness is near-forgotten (I do not absolve myself of this criticism), come here, rest up and enjoy yourself. As for the grounds, wow. The one plus side to Covid is that you can eat lunch on the lawn! After ordering, all tables outside were taken. The waiter offered to bring us a table and chairs by himself. Very, very generous. I will definitely be back. Thank you!

Excellent place for a lovely light lunch great choice all home made

A hidden gem. Beautiful gardens and wonderful historic house with a fascinating story. Great place for lunch too - the tea rooms have a superb menu and great service.

A nice clean place with tasty hot food. Only few options to choose from, but it is a wonderful experience to sit and eat lunch here in this tea room.
