I received my renewal notice and telephoned to discuss. When I spoke with the representative she was very professional and asked if I was happy with the quote. I explained that I had not expected it to increase given the circumstances of the year, reduced risks and my five or six year entirely claim-free history. As a result, she undertook a recalculation and obtained a discount of around 14%. We proceeded with the renewal process and I remain a satisfied customer.

I received my renewal notice from HomeProtect for House and Contents Insurance, but having come unstuck before, I always shop around at renewal time. Having used a popular comparison site for an initial quote, I then spent a lot of time talking to the other provider's representative, but ultimately their quote came to nearly three times the renewal cost with HomeProtect. So I renewed with them again and was able to cover items of jewellery for which I had up to date valuations for only £11 extra. The HomeProtect contact was patient, helpful and very understanding. I can thoroughly recommend HomeProtect even though I hope I never have to call on them with a claim.

I carried out extensive price comparison when I first took out this policy and when this year's renewal came through with a nominal increase I was pleasantly surprised but, even so, I checked again and it was still the best value! I also noticed that the renewal documents had a (minor) understatement of my claim free history to which I alerted the company. I received a very prompt reply and a (slight but favourable) premium adjustment. Given the difficult working conditions prevailing, the level of service was outstanding and is very reassuring in the event - let's hope not!! - of needing to call on the policy. Well done all.
