Unfortunately not for me. Came for a month twice a week and ended with worse pain. Shoulders and neck pain meant I could barely sleep at night. Do consider whether this is the right treatment for you and make sure you listen to your body as this might not be the solution to everything you are going through.
Connor has been treating my parents for years now and the difference he makes to their life is unbelievable. He has also helped me on many occasions when my back and neck have been hurting from sitting at my desk for too long at work. Not only does Connor know what he is doing, he really is one of the nicest guys I’ve met and if you’re having any issues I’d highly recommend going to see him.
After experiencing increasing muscular pain form August 2018 onwards, I was diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica in November and prescribed a 12-18 months cortisone treatment to alleviate the main symptoms and restore decent mobility without sharp pain.
My overall posture clearly suffered and by the end of 2019 I felt I was seating and standing badly. I had been practicing Alexander Technique methods before the illness and was well aware of the deterioration without being able to correct myself without straining as all muscles felt tense.
Just before Xmas 2019 I had three occasions whereby sharp sudden pain developed in one hip, impairing basic mobility, and that forced me to react. I consulted Dr Ward, a senior Chiropractor at the local Halsa clinic, who performed a series of adjustments along my spine over regular sessions until July 2020.
Besides ensuring that the sharp pain did not return, the early benefits were to recover control over my overall posture. Soon after starting the treatment, I developed a clearer sensation of how to stand, bend and seat during the day. I felt that my posture was gradually improving and the dull pains in the neck, on the back and in the hip were becoming infrequent.
Recently, I recovered the sensation of how my head rests on my neck (something I had developed through Alexander Technique, but lost through the polymyalgia rheumatica) and was able to walk / stand / bend much more pleasantly, without any pain at all.
Whilst I have experienced the progress through postural improvement and disappearance of pain, Dr Ward showed me, through X-rays taken at the onset of the treatment and recently in July, that the muscular-skeletal configuration around my spine had definitely improved.
I intend to continue with adjustments sessions in the future , but in a ‘maintenance mode’: One comes to get ‘addicted’ to the sessions. I highly recommend Dr Ward who impressed me with his skill and confidence during the treatment. His intervention was key in restoring my postural well-being.
I really recommend this clinic to everybody. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Mitch (one of the physiotherapists) and Bryonie (one of the chiropractors) are simply brilliant in all aspects. I've been treated by them for almost a year and I truly appreciate their ever present smile and their very skilful hands. It's a pleasure to receive treatment from them.
I have been attending the Halsa Clinic in Surbiton for about a year. It sounds like a long time but I have had a lot of pain issues for about forty five years. I am not in pain now. I see Dr. Conor Ward regularly who keeps me more or less pain free.
When I first attended the clinic I had chronic back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain and a foot I could hardly put weight on. I now sleep better because my neck and shoulder are so much better. My back is a lot better, although not pain free but I have lost the limp. I am now able to go to Zumba classes which was really starting to be impossible.
The aches and pains I feel now are nothing like they were before. My only regret is I didn’t find Dr. Ward years ago, life could have been so much easier.
