The library is excellent, I wish I could say the same about your online information. Why you persist in posting opening hours for a library which has been shut for about five months I can't understand, and surely by now you must have some idea when you intend to reopen.
It is a lovely library compared to others but the only problem I have is the fact that when people are trying to study and work and, you know, make the money that the government takes to invest in the libraries (correct me if I'm wrong) all I hear are children singing "if you're happy if you know it" etc. etc. It really throws of mine and some other people's concentration. It is mostly like that in not going to lie in all the libraries. It's really ironic that in a library you are supposed to be quiet but noise is being made at that level. Maybe try to separate that from a place of reading and work. I understand parents have young kids but maybe create an even more secluded section for these type of activities where the sound is reduced.Thank you.
Doesn't have a really good athmosphere to work. In general is a bit dirty and homeless people occupying some useful spots just standing there. There is a corner with tables and plugs to work but the plugs were I tried didn't work
I think this is very good for a local library. The range of books is better than I am used to for a public library, and it is easy to order books from the other Southwark libraries. I always find it calm and orderly. The staff in the coffee shop are always friendly and the prices are good for the area. The library staff are generally neither friendly nor unfriendly.
Well compared to the 1980s this library has since had a facelift with a coffee shop added near the front. Windows more larger with natural light filtering in, open space and lighter in colour.
Library is no longer a place of solace, peace and quiet. It is a loud place with younger children at close proximity, adults have a luch break, a business meeting, a place for telephone conversations and a general chat amongst friends, students come to study (God knows why, its louder then a school entrance.)
It is a lively place, books doesn't seem to be the main focus anymore. There are tables and computers everything you imagined the library to be with the added coffee shop with banging plates and cutlery.
This library is more a social ground then what is used to be. Not a moment of peace or quiet. It is very busy to say the least. My memory is a very distant memory and something I do miss in a library however times have changed and not a librarian in sight to shush the public.
