Rudyard Kipling, in his famous poem ‘If’, wrote: ‘If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run’ Visiting this DLR station, you’ve only got sixty seconds to make it to ‘Shady’ Overground station on the other side and vice versa. Beware: thugs, humbugs, youth gangs, war lords, mental institution escapees. Don’t be fooled by the fish and chips shop.

The change to Shadwell overground station takes 1 minute, not 6 as TfL Journey Planner says. You exit the station and can see the other. There are small shops and chicken/kebab places for late homecomers too.
