the gov't is in £1.8 trillion debt. the police aren't there to assist you. they are there to uphold the law, at their discretion/guidelines. you are there to help them (with enquiries). the police do not make it easy or convenient to work with them. they don't have to. the police are one part of a chain. other companies etc may be involved. that means when the police make it hard to work with them, it makes it harder to work with other companies in the chain. when you take instantaneous action to either prevent someone else from coming to harm, or prevent yourself from coming to harm, the police will waste no time in telling you what you did wrong, and what you should have done. (and that your existence on this planet is a privilege, not a right) but we musn't criticise the police, must we. that is what we are living in fear of. I receive many 'surveys' from private companies asking me to rate their service. there is no way to 'rate' police service. It's Christmas. so let's make it a 2-star, rather than 1-star review.
