Wash & Dry

On Sunday I had the wosrt experience I have ever had at this laudrette. A bit of background, I have been using this service on and off since the age of 13, I am now a 45 years old woman with children of my own. I brought my washing in to be dryed at roughly 6:30pm put it on for about 30 min came back about 7:30pm and was told that I have to bag my washing and go because I took so long getting back for my washing and that I couldn't fold my washing there despite the fact that the shop closes at 8pm and was virtually empty. I continued tofold my clothes whilst I got a torrade of verbal abuse and aggressive behaviour towards me. At one point the woman who worked there, shoved my washing over to me and her husband who was also there grabbed one of the baskets with my children freshly dryed clothes in and put on the ground outside the laudrette, on the dirty streets! I asked to see the owner who came down with some kind of intimidating instrument in his hand. I was not being aggressive I was just responding to their harassment in a calm manor whilst folding my clothes. Which would all be evident in there cctv footage! Long and short of it, the owner backed his member of staff and barred my from the lauderette for being half an hour late to collect my washing. I was in extreme shock and really disappointed in this experience I have had and was left feeling very distressed and really quite scared through out the incident. I seriously can not believe this has happened. In all the years I have been going there, I have never had so much as a crossed word with anyone who has worked there. I have been left traumatised as a result. I would like to take this incident further, but unfortunately I can't complain to the owner for obvious reasons. If anyone knows who I should contact so that this business is held accountable for the bullying, harassment and intimidation I experienced on Sunday 6 December 2020! I will be taking this further!!

I was very upset with the attitude of the owner as she constantly ignored me when I asked for help even after telling her that it was my first time at the dry cleaners. The customer service is absolutely terrible. She had no problem attending to the other customers but decided that it was too much to assist me, a black woman. I will not be visiting this place again and I hope you don’t treat other people who look like me this way in the future and especially not in the middle of a pandemic when people need help the most.

I have never been treated so awfully in my life. They behaved terribly due to the colour of my skin and the stereotypes they had created. The lady had given be horrendous looks once I had stepped out my car. I had entered the shop and she was reluctant to serve me. She had placed me to the machine nearest the cctv camera and didn’t help me when I had asked how to operate the machine. I had a fear of cats and she had allowed her cat to come to me even though you could see the fear in my face. I was so surprised on how this treatment was all based on the colour of my skin. I am still human and was only trying to use the machine. I wouldn’t recommend at all.

The staff very friendly and helpful clothes can be left and picked up,£4.00 to wash and 2.00 to dry

Reliable and good enough place to wash clothes. Self service although they do have a member of staff on hand to help. Nothing special overall.
