Every time I have to pick up a prescription there, I can't believe how inefficient the service is. One person at the counter, one at the back. Regardless of the queue, they announce 20 min to prepare and it does take them 20 min at the minimum. Putting a box into a bag takes two seconds. Now it s COVID-19 out there, there is no one around. Two people in the pharmacy, and I have to wait 20 min for the box of medicine to be put in the bag. For a hospital pharmacy, it is just unacceptable. Staff is also most unfriendly every time. Monopoly attitude.

I used to be highly complimentary about this Boots pharmacy attached to Kingston Hospital. Service was efficient and friendly. However the experience of mine in the afternoon of 21 May shattered this all. I called on 20 May about a prescription which is running out and I was told to come in on 21 May to collect. Knowing that this normally takes a week notice for prescription collection, I was surprised with the efficiency. When I arrived at the pharmacy in the afternoon, the front desk staff told me that there was no record about the prescription. She was rude and insisted that this must take at least of a week of notification before precription can be collected. I reasoned with her that I was requested to pop in and that was why I took some time off work to travel to the hospital. After my insistence, she reluctantly checked with the pharmacist and finally gave me a number to queque. I waited for my prescription to be ready. After about 10 minutes, my number suddenly disappeared from the screen while other preceding mumbers showed “ Ready for collection” . I went in and checked. She then reluctantly handed in my much needed prescription. I did not bother to ask why my queque number was erased instead of blipping “ Ready for Collection” in the waiting hall. Honestly this is the first time I came across a rude staff in the hospital, I hope that this is just a bad apple. I hope that Boots line managers should provide more coaching and feedback to the customer facing staff. Getting prescription for this medical condition is not something I look forward to but I should not need to make do with a rude front desk staff in a supposedly caring environment.
