Website indicated that they have a "chat" service. Had problem with my dog and wanted some advice. Person at other end had absolutely no intention of offering advice, just told me to register at her practice and make an appointment. Have no problem with paying a professional to help my lovely old terrier, but don't pretend to offer a "service" which is nothing but sales. Have gone to another vet.

DO NOT USE THIS VET!!! My dog was at the end of his life so we had to take him to be put down here. When we arrived, the vet was not sympathetic or acted like she cared in the slightest. The whole process was so heartbreaking as there were people just stood in the car park staring at me while I was obviously distraught with my dog. Another vet nearby thought it was appropriate to stand and have a laugh and a joke with another dog owner nearby, not showing any respect for me and my grieving dad who were at this point sat on the floor crying with our beloved dog. She then refused to let us put the lead on him ourselves instead she forcibly did it which if she had let us do it, it wouldn’t have been a struggle. She then proceeded to tell us in the most blank careless expression possible that we wouldn’t be able to come into the vets and wouldn’t let us say goodbye when they put him down at all. Not even outside. She acted like she’d had a long day and she was just trying to get home for the night and didn’t have a care in the world for our grieving family. If that wasn’t enough I then got an email not even an hour after he had died from these people about the money it costs to put him down. They sent me a receipt for my dogs death not even an hour after they killed him. No care no consideration. If you have pets that you regard as family and deserve special love and care for their departure then never ever consider taking them to Cockburns. I am mortified and they have made my grieving process a thousand times worse. I will never be able to forget that experience and I will always give cockburns a bad name for this. As a family, we are absolutely disgusted that we can’t even grieve properly because of those final minutes of total lack of care and respect. I hope no one has to go through the service we received on such a tough day. (I understand we weren’t allowed in due to covid and we had already come to terms with that, however she was so cold hearted and not caring at all about the situation. We have always come here but we have never seen this woman before so she may be new staff)

From the moment you walk in the door, Cockburn's makes you feel at ease, all the staff are friendly and open. There are always smiles from the receptionist, not just for you but also your pet. The nurses are like angels, if they have to take your pet away for nail clipping or something your pet always comes back quite happy as if nothing happened. All the vets are friendly, caring and professional, they always make you feel that your pet is as special to them as he is to you. They talk you through your pet's condition, treatment possibilities or test results so you always know what is going on. And when that sad day comes when you have to say goodbye they are so compassionate and caring, nothing is rushed and all consideration is given. I cannot rate this vet practice too highly.

Changed from previous vets as cockburn came highly recommended my dog was treated wonderfully by cathy very professional ,

I want to say thank you to the staff of the vet clinic. We have poor English, but the staff approached us with understanding. Served us and examined the dog 100%, the vet was friendly with my dog ​​and me. I am very glad that I chose this clinic, and I will continue to cooperate with them. Thank you very much
