Great walk. We did the black route which is 8 miles or 13km long and we finished it in about 2.5 hours, had the most amazing views along the way of the forest and local farmland. It was fairly empty when we went so definitely covid friendly although that could have been due to the rain! It was very muddy so I would definitely recommend wearing wellies/waterproof shoes and clothes that you do not mind getting muddy. With all the leaves on the ground at the moment it was a bit slippy too so would recommend shoes with good grip.

Excellent trip, Sat Nav struggled to get us there but once there well laid out and routes clearly marked. Bit muddy in places due to time if year and recent weather. Will be going back again to complete the 8 mile course. Points to note, there are no toilet facilities or Cafes at the part of the woods we went to.

It's lovely, but everyone knows, so it can be crowded at typical peak times. Went for a run this morning and took almost half an hour to get out again in the car. Good clearly marked walking / running routes of about 1, 3 and 5 km or so. Black route is about 11km but lost time I ventured that far many signs had worn out and we got a little lost.

It is an amazing forest, we did the black route and it was a great choice as it had varying landscape. Easy walk with a 7-yo as well. It was muddy, but still doable. Would definitely return.
