Very delightful especially the avenue from the folly down to the statue

The park this afternoon, as beautiful, interesting and friendly (especially if you're a dog owner!) as ever. Lake, pond, rolling landscape, fabulous planting and wildlife. So lucky to have this on our doorstep.

Lovely big park with lots of sections, twists, and turns. The lake is gorgeous in the sun and there are some bold corvids that hop really close! Great for dogs and kiddos. The wooden play park features a fantastic and beautiful wooden dragon embedded in the earth, and all of the play equipment is made of recycled trees from the park. There's a big xylophone and drums as well as plenty of standard play and trails through bamboo and thicket. Simply great. They don't have a separate Google site to review so a big 5*s for the lake's boat operators too. Reasonable prices and very well-run with modern, clean equipment. Nice cafe, food looked good but all I had was a can of pop!

Even after so much wet weather most of the pathways are passable - just one or two puddles here and there. We were so pleased to find the cafe open for takeaway hot and cold drinks and snacks. We were there on a chilly day and the lovely hot chocolate was most welcome!

Awesome place to go feed all types of birds. Have a wonder around and grab a half decent coffee. Just don't get disheartened when a unleashed dog runs over to see whats going and scare your little feeding flock away.
