Lovely place for long walks and for getting away from the hustle and bustle of town life. Perfect for relatively easy cycle rides to.

A popular route used by walkers and cyclists alike. Pleasant walking along the tow path from Hythe to Rowhedge...and back. Usually waders and meadow birds to be seen and when the tide is in it can be quite picturesque. Water is clean enough for fishing and sea bass can be landed I was told by an angler. Screen hide overlooking a small lake can also provide decent sightings. Unusually this walk is lacking in dog dirt which is a bonus in Colchester where most public land is used as a canine toilet. Enjoy.
