As car parks go this has a smooth surface- mainly black tarmac. It has many white lines painted on it to guide the prospective parker to an appropriate place to park. There are numerous places to park at varying distance from the station. Anything after 6.00 in the morning will necessitate a 5 minute walk since the London bound suited workers will have taken up the nearby spaces. Payment is achieved via a machine on the outside of the station, which takes cash or card. This is linked to an automatic number plate recognition camera which records incoming cars to facilitate payment of parking fees. I cannot recall a time where there was not a parking space, but be prepared for a walk when the car park is nearing capacity.

Its a car park, next to the station. Prices are... not cheap... even when travelling at a weekend (in my opinion). The new NCP ticket system allows you to pay at the machine near the station without the need to stick a ticket in the window of your car (or pay via the app / online etc.) Its a large car park and I have never had a problem parking, although sometimes have ended up in a tiny space on the far side!

£10+/day to park during the week before off-peak hours in a cramped space where I have acquired more parking dents than the local supermarket. When you have to spend more on parking than lunch and breakfast, am I the only one thinking the profiteering has gotten out of hand?

Not the most modern car park but it is sufficient. Limited undercover. Can get busy with commuters leaving their vehicles all day. Pay and display with a few machines dotted around.
