I couldn't have wished for a better school for my children. Gordon's has given them such a great start. They worked hard there, played hard and so enjoyed it. The tradition, the fantastic extra curricular activities - there is so much an offer. They have built up friendships and memories and we are so grateful to the dedicated staff. Would highly recommend.

I have no words to fully describe what this school has meant to our family. My Four sons speak so fondly of their experiences at Gordons and Mr & Mrs Moore their house parents provided a secure and caring environment in which they could thrive. This school is exceptional with hard working and inspirational people. If you are fortunate enough to get a place you are one of the Lucky ones

I was there 7 years ago as a summer camp exchange student from China. Everyone there was nice and helpful. Eager to go back again sometime.

I attended this school between 1964 and 1970 and have remained involved with it since then. In the intervening time, its success as a school has varied and at present has one of the best reputations within the UK Educational system; this fact is borne out by the fact that properties within the catchment area are three to four times the value outside the very small catchment area. One only has to attend an open day or read the local (or National) press to understand what a phenomenal school this is, and the lifelong effect it has on developing its pupils for a successful adult life. The lady who wrote the one star review must have misunderstood the situation she experienced, as many Oriental children have been blessed with an education at this school and have left showering high praise for their happy and successful years enjoyed, soaking up the many attributes and life-skills the school provided them with. The present Educational Secretary is also the local M.P. and whilst he cannot be accused for being biased in any way, he has accurately held this school (now Academy) up as a shining example of how well establishments of learning can fulfil their educational role. When I attended the school, it had recently changed from being a Residential Home for needy boys to a fee paying boarding school and whilst I boarded there, it changed again to a non-selective State supported school. Now it is a school which educates day pupils, day boarders, weekly boarders and full-time boarders (or so I believe). From originally educating boys only, it changed some years ago to catering for both genders and has now a thriving advanced (sixth form) education department with most attendees going on to many top Universities. Supported by a Foundation Trust and many of the eleven thousand ex-pupils in the form of their Alumni, and the highly successful and active PTA, the combined result ensures each and every pupil enjoys the very best investment in their development and journey into adulthood.

Great school. However, children in different houses can't socialise easily if not in many classes, the xmas dinner is amazing but only event really. Would suggest a get together such as summer dinner/Easter etc to bring years together.
