Free parking and nice walks around
Free car park close to center. Great idea, nice surroundings and landscapes. Make sure you visit the wind mill as well
It isn’t often in modern day Britain you stumble across a totally free car park, but luckily Thaxted bucks this trend with the Margaret Street car park, which happens to be just one of two free car parks in Thaxted. The convenience of a toilet in the car park also is an added bonus. What more could you need after a long drive to Thaxted to see some of the local attractions such as the Windmill, many pubs or Guildhall. The car park has ample spaces, which are wide enough for most vehicles, as well as larger spaces for campers. The car park is located close to the centre and all local amenities.
Although adequate places to park. Mainly wanted to use the public toilet. Unusable because of the smell from the over subscribed deposit of muck blocking the bowl. Ladies was just as bad I was told. Its a nice little town and I guess this isn`t the norm for the toilets but more attention to cleaning periodically could be observed.
Not a huge car park, but it's free. Public toilets on site. Easy quick walk to the market town.
