Quick and efficient
Today I needed my signature witnessed in connection with my son's application for university accommodation. I called in at my local solicitor (Mellons, Charlton KIngs) thinking this should be straightforward. I've lived locally for 22 years. The response to my request was: "we wouldl only undertake this for our clients"; " we don't know who you are"; "you might find another solicitor to do this for a large charge". I would place the response somewhers between officious and rude. I very easily found another local solictor who was happy to witness my signature (for £15) and took time to explain their Wills service, which we will be needig soon (and which I was going to ask Mellon's about). I will take my business elsewhere in future (but I don't think Mellons want more business!).
