Meirion Mill Shop and Coffee Shop

Beautiful Store with ample parking in a lovely part of Mid Wales. Unusual and Quality goods but expensive to purchase. Pleasant Coffee shop and good Toilets at rear of premises. Very much a tourist attraction and well worth a visit. Large (No cost) Car Park.

This place lacks a soul. It's like stepping back in to the last century, but not in a good way. The tables are laid out in a regimental way. It bit like a canteen. They had 4 Welsh Cakes under a dome. Two of them were already buttered. Why? Had they been prepared for someone else who changed their mind and then put back. It did not look good. I asked if there were made by them. Sadly not. They are the easiest things to make. She said the scones were made by them. The lady serving came across as disinterested in her job. When I requested a scone with cream, but no jam. I was given a scone with butter. In this big room there was only another couple, so she wasn't busy serving, but instead of asking if the food was okay, she hovered around just waiting to clear our table. It made me feel like I needed to rush. If she had asked I would have let her know the scone was on the stale side. Later when we visited the adjoining shop, which has some interesting things for sale, this lady had left her post and was chatting to the other sale ladies. I noticed more customers waiting for food, but she didn't notice them striaght away as she was too busy chatting. I don't normally rate OK places, just the good and bad ones, but this could be a great place, it's certainly a fantastic location, if these few issues could be sorted. I hope to return and be able to report on a better visit next time.

Love this place, some of the wares can be a little expensive, but it is a good stop with parking and reasonable loos and a reasonable cafe serving cafe fare but dont expect full main meals. The shop element covers the main mill site and has an excellent selection of items mainly for the tourist including a lot of clothing, kitchen type goods, handbags and purses, slippers and similar gift ideas.

Great choice in the shop and I had a lovely sausage bap.

Fantastic shop. Has loads to buy. is almost like an aladins cave. Staff bud really friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Cafe is good value. Has an usual bridge which is a must see.
