JB Carpets & Beds (Nelson)

Picked a carpet for a reasonable price and eagerly awaited the carpet fitted to a freshly decorated bedroom. Had decorators in two weeks previously to perfectly decorate my son's bedroom. The fitter rang me earlier on the day of fitting to my delight saying he could do it much earlier than originally planned. All for the need schedule I couldn't wait to come home that evening and see a finished bedroom. What I got was a phone call off my daughter saying I need to come home as the carpet fitted had ruined the bedroom and my stairs. He had ripped all the new wallpaper on all four walls, scrapped paint off a fitted wardrobe and scrapped paint of the post at the top of the stairs. I rang JB carpets and then went there with photographs of the damage. They agreed that the damage was unacceptable however, they quickly threw the fitter under the bus and accepted no liability whatsoever for his work even though they hired him to do the work. Spoke to the fitter he offered to paint ripped wallpaper..... Which wasn't good enough. I said I would contact the decorators for a price of the repair. He quickly said if the repair is over the £40 " fitting costs" he would have to go through his insurance and this could take a very long time. So think on before you part with your hard earned money. To quote the fitter " I didn't go in their like a Bull in a China shop" No , you were worse.

I had to get a single mattress at short notice. The customer service was great and got a lovely quality mattress at a good price. Thank you.
