Nice open site of an old slate mill. The shell of the building is in good repair, looked after by Cadw. Approach is along single track lanes. There are steps up to the building, but you can also approach on the level if you walk up the lane to the side and come through a farm gate. There's some parking by the side of the road nearby, or you can carry on to the nearby lake where there's a small car park. On the corner where you turn down to the lake is a little cafe offering food and drink. On the hill above are the remains of a quarry village.

This is the slate mill for the quarry about 3 miles up the valley. The strange embankment that leaves the mill is actually the remains of the tramway bringing slate down from the quarry. The big hole inside the mill is the place that the waterwheel that powered the mill would have been.
