Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Southampton Central Docks

Before living this review I must emphasise that i work in the rental industry myself and this is not a decision taken lightly. A few months ago my car had a breakdown on the A34 which I was recovered and taken to Enterprise in Southampton to pick up a courtesy vehicle. Now this is where all the fun begin, I was given a courtesy car that was not been cleaned or even checked bear in mind this is during Covid -19. Sticky steering wheel in and outside dirty, Which I made a complain to the manager and he told me the car had been clean got on to the phone with the AA Which advise the condition of the vehicle and that I was not happy. After a little while the manager send one of the staff to have a quick wipe down. Given I was in a rush I had to go and see my kids I took the car drove to Leicester on my way back I got stoped by the police Due to the fact that the car had no brake lights or no back light at night the car had to be left at the service over night and I had to pay for a hotel near by. At this point I'm very angry contacted the customer service the next day and had to drive back into Leicester to pick up another car which had no fuel inside. Eventually got back to Southampton had the car dropped off. So before hiring a car from enterprise I would think twice if I were you not only was the car not fit for purpose the customer service was a disgrace. Never had a call from the manager for an apology whatsoever. I would avoid enterprise at all cost-look at the reviews.

Excellent service and friendly staff brilliant pick up and drop of provided

Very polite and friendly staff. Covid situation means services are restricted, limited offices open and not allowed in the building. Also pick up service suspended so did cost me £24 in taxis, so plan and work out options before you rent

Quick and friendly service. However, I asked the Enterprise Employee if I would be getting a refund for returning the car early and she confirmed. She never mentioned anything else about my receipt or charges etc. After leaving the branch and opening the rental receipt, I noticed that she overcharged me extra £25 as a “Miscellaneous Charge”.I called the branch and they refused to deal with the issue. I had to call the Edinburgh North branch where I picked up the vehicle, and they confirmed that the charge was wrong and refunded me the unnecessary charge of £25. Disappointing service from the Southampton branch.

Brilliant service, excellent vehicle, inexpensive cost. I won't go anywhere else for my var/van rental.
