Good rural car park (i.e. not tarmac) space I estimate for 40/50 cars. Easy access to canal and towpath.
Get there early it's popular all year round. I fish the canal so it's great for me. Lots of paddle boardists use the car park too
Parked up and went fishing on the canal for a few hours . Beautiful setting . Would recommend for anyone either for fishing, birdwatching or just a leisurely stroll ! Will be returning when the weather is better !
Visited to on the off chance of googling dog walking places .
Have to say it very relaxing great walk along the canal. Watching boats and kayaking people go past. And ducks and swans and babies swimming by.
Bonus is carpark if free .

This is a small free car park which can possibly hold some 25 cars, as a consequence the road up to it can also end up with cars parked along side it. It gets very busy for this stretch of the Basingstoke canal, my personal advice is get there early if the weather is good or is going to be good. We parked up at 7am there where just two car in the carpark , when we came back from our walk at 9.00am the car park and the road leading up to it were rammed with cars. It is a very popular slipway on to the canal mainly on the day we were there lots of paddle boards the type that you pump up.
