Unfortunately I did not have a positive experience. I am a designer and specifier, and decided to order from Valve Kings instead of my usual supplier as they were cheaper. As the old adage goes you get what you pay for. Of the valves I ordered, the first one broke on installation - my heating engineer, who I have used for many installations, showed me that it was clearly a result of the valve being flimsy and not well made. When I asked to return the item I was told that it was the fault of my engineer, but clearly if a valve cannot be installed without breaking then it is not fit for purpose. I was nonetheless refused a refund (I did try and claim for this via PayPal but they do not seem to have a means to claim for ‘faulty’ items). As the first valve had been such poor quality I sought to return the others but was told I would have to pay £10 in order to do this, as well as pay for returns postage myself. I referred this to trading standards who have informed me that this is not correct. They also advised me that under the distance selling regulations I should have received pre-contract information as a hard or electronic copy (a link to the website is not sufficient as this can be changed), which I never received. All in all I would avoid this company.

Valve Kings provided me with a faulty item and I contacted them to request a refund / replacement. They told me to return the original item in order to test and confirm the fault. I sent the item back to them and had to pay for the cost of return postage. They confirmed the fault and sent a replacement valve. They refused to cover the cost of return postage even though the goods provided by them were faulty. Under the Consumer Rights Act where the goods are returned due to being faulty the customer is entitled to return the goods and claim a full refund plus any other losses that have been incurred as a direct result of faulty goods being supplied, such as the costs of postage. This was exactly the case in this situation. I relayed this information to Valve Kings but they have ignored all my attempts to contact them for the last eight weeks. I would advise people not to purchase from them as they do not follow the law when it comes to consumer rights and will not respond to your attempts to contact them.
