Another extraction which wasn't straightforward but was made as painfree as possible. Never a problem with Ravat & Ray and I can well recommend the practice.

Can't really comment on their policy for late arrivals, as I always make a point of being on-time to my appointments. Yes the dentist has been running late once or twice but I expect this with any service commissioned by the NHS. It's because sometimes the needs of a patient can't be accommodated within the 15? Minute appointment time. I'm happy to wait as long as they would be happy to over run if I ever needed it, which I don't doubt they would. I moved to Burnley from Cheltenham last year and not many places were taking NHS patients but this place was. At my request they emailed me their registration document (as I was still in Cheltenham so couldn't come in to get the form but wanted to get everything set up before I moved up here). Not long after moving up here I got beaten up on a night out for no reason so needed emergency care as my mouth was and jaw were very painful and I could not fully open my mouth. The dentist saw me a handful of times as I recovered to ensure everything was healing as she'd expect. She explained her plan clearly that if she didn't see an improvement by the next visit then she would refer me to the hospital for further treatment. Both her and her assistant were very understanding and down to earth. Sorry don't know their names. The dentist was a lady maybe eastern European and the dental nurse was mixed race Asian and wore a head covering. They didn't just advise about my oral health but were able to examine my whole face. So we mustn't forget dentists are very highly qualified professionals and don't only know about teeth. Only criticism I could give was that on a subsequent visit the receptionist tried to tell me I needed to pay again. I know the rules very well and that if you are seen again within a certain time period that the treatment is free of charge if it is of the same band or lower (even if it relates to a different issue) or if a higher band then you pay the difference. She was trying to tell me the dentist had marked the previous treatment episode as complete. Kind of felt like the receptionist was being a jobs worth. I explained the rules clearly and asked her to go and ask the dentist and of course the dentist agreed I was right and was more than happy to see me at no extra charge. Someone that wasn't so well read as me may have paid again unnecessarily so might be worth refreshing all staffs training on how NHS funding and charging works.

I completely disagree agree with the last review!! There’s 3 specific members of the team I always see and they all go above and beyond for me and my family. And other patients that I have witnessed! The receptionist is firstly very welcoming & very chatty and always smiling! Who dosent want a chatty smiling receptionist would you rather her ignore you & give out dirty looks? She’s Always trying to keep the children entertained with colouring etc.. Then on to the dental nurse Nicola & the dentist Marina again going above and beyond they both always have me and my family giggling while we are there! “They’re crackers” as my children say. They are all calm and caring and all work in a very professional manner. I just hope the girls get the recognition for the work they put in that they deserve. I would also just like to say that I have been late for appointments previously the densit offers a 10 minute leeway so I doubt she would of refused to see you because of that!! You 3 are amazing please don’t ever change! My self & my family wish you a very merry Christmas & we are already looking forward to seeing you all in the new year! ☺️ X

Absolutely shocking dental practice, receptionist is rude and puts the manager down to other patients who i can only presume was her friends as they stood chatting for ages. Dentist is always running behind not once have i been seen on time but if a patient is 30 seconds late the dentist refuses to see them. The dentist herself is very patronizing and matter of factly and insults me because my teeth aren't perfect clean. the place is like a zoo full of animals, i won't be returning nor will anyone i know as i'll share my awful experience
