Was a fantastic playing fields now it's a football hub that locals young and old in the area cannot play on or use unless you're in a group and pay for it. Locked out are the locals and the people who came from other towns to use. Highams had a covenant on it that was given to the locals of accrington by Alderman Higham and Mrs Higham , to which Hyndburn councillors miles parkinson, p cox, j plummer, plus a Holt and the asfc/asct took of us and against a strong fight from the locals.

It was one of the last large open access green area left in Accrington, if not the last and as usual, it's been built on! Any green space seems to be developed these days. What was once a green and pleasant land is now a depressing sea of concrete!

Lovely open Playing fields,and 3 parks for different age groups from toddler to teen. Enjoy while you can,won't be there much longer,the fields I mean. Being destroyed shortly.😱
