Great place for a walk

So beautiful! I really enjoy taking the dogs on the moors. Very safe, well defined and maintained path and roads.

Great place for getting a good view over the whole of Whitworth and Rochdale. The road has a historic link to the cotton famine. The well laid setts date from a relief project during the cotton famine of 1862 - 3 which resulted from supply interruptions during the American Civil War. There are some ruins at Rooley Moor Brow which until the 1930s was the Moor Cock Inn which may look like an odd place for an Inn but in living memory there was dozens of working quarries.
