A lovely step back in time to how stations and trains used to be and within the lovely station is the Victorian tea room. A really authentic setting and at the time of writing, selling deliious take away food and drinks. There is seating outside and tables can be reserved. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Can't comment on the tea rooms as the rude and officious 'doorman' demanded payment for platform tickets from our group of cyclists. Certainly won't take a detour down the rutted track again, plenty of other places nearby offering a warm welcome to paying customers.

Great stop off on a walk/cycle! Well worth the £1 cost of a platform ticket to preserve this beautiful spot.
