On this day I was in the shop. I found that the person who wrote this review was very pushy. The owner of the shop was very polite and friendly towards the customer. The customer kept on asking different questions, to which the shop owner answered in a correct and professional way. It is obvious that you can not set up a violin for somebody to try and then resell it as brand new. Then the customer had the cheek to turn around and say that they could buy the in violin on the internet cheaper. As for Harmony Music, I travel over 130 miles each way to do business with them, and I find them excellent in what they do and very professional. In fact I will be traveling up to do more business with them in the next 2 weeks, and I can not wait to do this. Harmony Music Ltd keep up the excellent work and all the best for the future.

Staff are friendly and helpful, despite other reviews. I personally wish I could work with them as they are lovely people and I love drumming

Very unfriendly shop. The owner of this shop, Alan, makes some very risqué comments. He is a very odd geezer to say the least that goes into great detail about his life and living in poverty back in the 80's etc. I came to this shop to make a simple purchase, not to have some blokes messed up life story thrown down my face. I am from the Boston area born and bred and some of my local friends have had similar experiences with this shop. One of my friends took lessons here many, many, many years ago and got stung by that fake certificate scandal that was in the paper. I had another friend that took lessons here a few months ago that had to cancel her lessons due to the teacher swearing like a sailor in the lessons. She confronted Alan Ellis about this but he just flipped her the bird.

Awful, awful customer service. I have felt ever so patronised by one of the ladies that works there. Very un-welcoming feeling if your not a classical musician.
