Frampton Marsh is a fantastic nature reserve with so much wildlife. I find it one of the best birding sites in England. I have been twice now and seen very rare birds and countless other species. Trails are easy to walk on and the hides are spacious and provide great views. I’d allow at least 4 hours to do a proper scout of the reserve and the public footpath through the trees to the old barn is always worth a walk for birds of prey and warblers. Unfortunately the visitor centre is closed at the moment, but there is someone manning the entrance who can give you lots of info on the reserve and all of the latest sightings. Pectoral Sandpiper, Caspian Tern, Golden Plover, Marsh Harrier, Little Stint, Spoonbill, Avocet, Curlew Sandpiper are just some of the wonderful birds I’ve seen in just 2 visits. I’ve also had a close encounter with a stoat! Quality and quantity is the theme for this reserve so if you want a great day birding then this is the place to be!

Excellent access via footpaths around the areas & leading to visitor viewing hides. It's also possible to walk around the entire area enjoying far reaching views of the different species. Not forgetting the essential facilities - ideal for a coffee stop!

We love visiting Frampton Marsh. The wardens and volunteers are knowledgeable and welcoming. So many birds to see. We've never been disappointed. Would give it 6 stars out of 5.

Great spot. RSPB in Tier 3. Toilet facility open, QR code and registration on site plus gel and hand washing. Thoughtful access. A dark December afternoon with huge skies with startling cloud formations but the bird flocking FILLED the skies with their twists and turns and shrieks and calls. A sight to behold. Thousands of plovers, widgeons, Pochards, Brent and Grey Lag geese. Amazing to see. Cars in the car park thinned by 2.30 pm so we were able to view freely and unhindered. As we walked back to the car the final flocks flew in and the loud babble and chorus of the birds quelled into stillness and an eerie silence. A wonderful place in these dark times. Salt marsh, fresh water lakes and pools, good pathway walks, grand banks and sea walls to view from aloft. Good screening and gated protected areas. Try it you won't regret your visit.

This is the place that persuaded me to join the RSPB, so can't speak highly enough of it. If I told you that my back garden shows the results of my attempts to grow thistles, and white roses, you'll understand that anyplace that inspired me to sign up for a direct debit must have quite something going for it.
