Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Great Yarmouth

Reserved and paid for a car but no car. I received an email stating that their agent would contact me but nobody called. I went to collect the car but the premises were all locked up. I wrote twice to complain but no response from Enterprise. My credit card should be refunded asap Enterprise. Extremely poor service. Update: I had to get this sorted out on Twitter!!!! I shall get a refund but will have to wait at least 5 days.

I have used these a few times now, both for dropping off and picking up. The staff have always been helpful and offered assistance if required.

My car went in for repairs to a local garage, and needing a replacement vehicle, checked online and found Enterprise had many available of all different sizes and was offering a booking slot for 10am. I didn't book online as I was only 5 minutes away from the branch so called in, only to be told they had no vehicles available until about 5 or 6pm. When I pointed out the website said there were many available from 10am I was told, "I don't know why the website does that, but it always does and we haven't got any vehicles here. I reluctantly agreed that I would have to come back later when cars were available and so they started to take my details. Again I had checked online that morning regarding what documents to bring and the website stated, 'debit or credit card, drivers license and i.d.' I was then told that their system completes a name and address verification check and mine had, for some reason failed, but their system doesn't tell them why it failed. I again queried that the website said to just bring i.d. And was told they no longer accept 'paper' I.d. And you had to pass their online verification, unless you had a credit card (which I do not have). I then spoke to the Area Manager, who had just come into the branch and relayed my issues to him. He then found in the small print at the bottom of a page on their website that you would have to pass this online verification unless you had a credit card, but he even admitted that it was not easy to find and said usually people book online and then the branch call you up and tell you exactly what you need to bring. I then queried why the website said cars were available at 10am when in reality there was none available until 5pm. The area manager then said the website gives a 2 hour window to allow the branch to get a vehicle from another local branch, when I said that the branch staff had told me that cars were not available until 5pm, he couldn't answer why they had told me that. I would not even attempt to hire a vehicle from here as their website and computer systems seem to be woefully inadequate. Certainly don't attempt to walk into branch and get a car straight away, it's not going to happen. If you have a credit card it may be slightly easier to pass their verification check, but sadly as I do not have one, I cannot say for certain. Gapton vehicle hire just up the road however were extremely helpful and I was back on the road within 10 minutes.

Absolutely hopeless.

Rented a van from Great Yarmouth. The manager Sebastian worked round my own mistake of booking the van later than I needed it. Then dealt with Jess to show me around before I drove it away, very informative and friendly. Top service
