An excellent open space in the middle of the town, easy to access and a lovely route to take on the way to and from the town centre on foot or cycling. It always improves my day, a little bit of "countryside" in the town with large grassed areas, interesting variety of trees, a river and formal planted gardens. The Red Mount building is very interesting too and a lovely backdrop for photos. Beautifully maintained by the Council workers.

Our boys love the walks. It nice and scenic and there are two parks. A secure one for the younger children and a park for the older kids. There's a coffee shop too with toilet facilities and the usual ice creams, cakes and chocolate bars etc.

In the daytime it's great for kids and exercise it has a large kids area with a jumping climbing section. The centre is dominated by a historic building the red mount worth a look treees bandstand squirrels ducks trees a genuine town centre park. DONT GO THROUGH THERE AT DARK drunks and drugs are there it's not Afghanistan but it can be unpleasant at times.
