I love the park, nice little local park to us. I wish there was more play equipment for the kids in the actual play area I.e. slide etc. The lake also need deep cleaning! But I love it anyway.
A nice country park with a cafe and a easy walk around the lake. There is also a very pleasant River walk leading from it. Just don't take it at school home time!
Great park. Spent a couple of hours there this afternoon with my 2 year old. He had a great time on the playground and feeding the ducks, but he particularly like looking for all the fallen acorns from the oak trees! Plenty of free parking, toilets just outside the cafe entrance (spotted on the way back from the other ones) and some just a but further on from the cafe round to the left. Lots of benches dotted around, we sat at one and ate our picnic.
This park is one of the best and a gem. It has obviously had money spent on it and that investment pays off (in most cases). The play area is good, the cafe is perfect and the access for locals is awesome. It feels safe as well thanks to some good CCTV around here and there. For those coming to visit outside the city, parking isn't the best but that's not a reason not to go. Compared to other parks perhaps not as much wildlife to see but lots of lovely short walks and there is diversity. Personally I love to walk along the riverbank and then the woods before coming to the more open spaces. The toilets could do with a refurb which is perhaps the only area that really needs that investment putting in now.
Fantastic little gem of a place, kids loved it in Park, lovely walk in the woods climbing trees and sitting beside the lake watching the many ducks and feather hunting, the clean well kept church only adds to the character. Plenty of squirrels which can get close to. Beautiful can't wait to go back x very clean. Cafe a little overpriced but friendly staff.
