Area has been revitalised by volunteer workers. An excellent job has been done. It was very clean with well kept plants and pathways. Plenty of people enjoying walking through.

The venetian waterways at Great Yarmouth are a real credit to the town and the men that built them, their poignant story makes you proud to be British. Absolutely beautiful. The planting is a lovely mixture of grasses and perennials. So much fun to watch people in their rowing attempts 😅 There's a couple of cafes and loos too. The waterways are backed by sand dunes and are only a short walk from the pier.

Extensively renovated in 2019, this place is an oasis and a gem. It is the opposite of the bustling piers area of the promenade, and is a credit to the town. Lots of winding paths around an ingenious canal system (which is actually a pond with islands). Nicely kept gardens, plenty of wildlife, and choice of refreshment options. The site seems to have its own micro climate, and even on a windy day it was very calm. If all you think of Great Yarmouth is chips and seaside tat, go to this place and be surprised.
