We've been with this Practice for quite a few years and are quite sad to leave really because Nigel is a great Dentist and an all round nice guy. The Hygienists have always done an excellent job on both mine and my Husbands teeth. We were very patient during the initial pandemic lockdown and continued to pay £30 per month (for both of us) into the Practice Plan throughout. Our last routine appointments were in January but even so we continued to pay in to the plan throughout. I was heartened when they told me in July that the Hygienists were being brought back to work shortly but no appointments were forthcoming and I eventually contacted them in November to be told that there was only one appointment available which either myself or Husband could have. Other local Dentists were fully operational so we had no other choice but to go elsewhere as we both desperately needed our check ups and teeth cleaning after ten months. The Practice Plan builds up funds for your next visit from the time of the last visit so my Husband and I have paid in around £300 since January and received no routine treatments and are will not be permitted a refund. It has been pointed out in an email to me that my Husband has had two emergency appointments which is true. However one was before lockdown and the second involving an extraction was at the inflated cost of £200. I've had no visits since January so I'm £150 down and we've had to pay over £200 elsewhere to get the routine treatments that we should have had at this Practice from July onwards. I realise that a small portion of our monthly fees were for emergency treatment if needed but the majority of what we paid in from January -November was for routine check ups and Hygienist appointments which weren't forthcoming. I feel especially aggrieved now as I see the Practice advertising for new patients when only a few weeks ago they were only able to offer us two check up appointments, one Hygienist consultation and absolutely no refund. This was in November, several months after restrictions were eased and it was me who contacted them, not the other way round.
