Review for the cafe... Amazing vegetarian, vegan and gluten free food. Only had the breakfast but was so good. Highly recommended the food. The shop has loads of random stuff and natural products. Tho the woman who served me was very rude. Was busy talking to someone and didn't care i was there, the only time she looked at me and said anything was to tell me how much to pay. No thank you or anything. Don't recommend buying anything just go for food.

Always worth a visit for delicious vegan food or coffee, they stock lots of gluten free options. Moreso for the eclectic range of items available in the shop. Gifts, homeware, sustainable fashion, awesome friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of local craft and art. Rustic, organic, country industrial chic. Love love love The Old Electric. Make it a stop in your tour immediately!

Something for everyone, lovely feel to the place. Covid restrictions not really that restrictive , in a good way.

Passed through this shop/café today. Lovely aesthetics and overall visuals. Good one-way system and clear instructions for distancing. However it was the staff that let the whole shop down. My partner and I ordered coffee and were asked to leave a name so it can be called when the order's ready to be collected - simple and easy stuff! We pondered around the shop, all lovely items albeit overpriced (but that's not the shop's wrongdoing), until my name was called. I was busy looking at cards, a mere two metres away, so my partner went over to collect our drinks. The woman calling my name ignored him when he said "yes" and proceeded to call my name. Upon finally acknowledging my partner she condescendingly asked "what, you're Kate?" and called my name again. I was walking towards the collection table while she said this, gestured towards my partner and said "yes, there's two cups". I am utterly baffled as to why there was a need to question someone in a condescending tone when picking up two drinks. My partner definitely does not look like a 'Kate' in the feminine terms but surely one can put two-and-two together and see he was picking up two drinks - one for him and the other for 'Kate'. I understand that the woman could have been cautious of giving drinks to a person she did not believe to be the original customer. But then again some men can be called Kate - and there's also no need to ignore and be rude to people. Disappointed, let down, and it wasn't even a good coffee. Bad taste in my mouth literally and theoretically.
