I visited the vets on Sunday 21st my dog had developed a lump on the side of there face. They told me the initial consultation was £179. I agreed as I didn't know what the issue was and worried.
Once arrived the staff was very friendly and polite. They took my dog in rang me back (social distancing) told me it was just ear and then went take him to your vet tomorrow I'll inject them.
The final bill came to £240. Do I feel I got value for money absolutely not. Do I feel I got Robbed yes.
Vets now go not care about the welfare of animals. They care about profit only. Feel that is proved as above. They prey on us who love our pets charging extortionate fees knowing we'll pay as we love our pets. Plus
To put it in comparison my own vet (appreciate weekday) did a through check and diagnosed differently issued medicine for £110.
We've needed their services three times this year and, on each occasion, their knowledge, care and compassion has been outstanding. I would happily use them as my regular vets if I could. Can't recommend them highly enough.
Whilst I am very grateful that Vets Now could see Bob (cat) immediately, I was horrified at how much they charged. The itemized bill showed that I paid £50 for a tube of cream that costs £11.95 from a trusted online pet pharmacist and plenty of other places charge £12 for exactly the same product. And the £16 admin fee. Really? Also, Bob needed a pet vest but because they just use the premises of our regular vet they don't have access to the stock. That is ludicrous. Bob needed a vest but I had to ring round other vets until I found one that had a vest in stock in his size and then take him there for it to be fitted. That was another unnecessary journey for a cat who was feeling miserable and hates car rides anyway. The bill was so high that I assumed I would have received the same items required as if we had gone to our vet during their office hours. No issues with the staff or their care of Bob (I am extremely grateful) but the charges are unacceptable and I can see why some people might not be able to afford to take their pets to an out of hours service which must be awful for the pet and owner. Get real, Vets Now, your fees are extortionate and totally unnecessary. And before you leave me the standard response about your overhead costs, I fail to see why your charges are so high because you are using a vet practice's building and don't have the costs that the practice has but you charge triple or more than their rates. Bob is my world and I would do anything for him yet you did nothing but exploit me and plenty of others too. It's shameful!
I want to say a personal thank you to all involved for their compassion and care. Fantastic service
unfortunately we've had to use the emergency vets a few times for our Dane. But they have always been caring, professional and kept us informed. Sadly Blu passed away at the last visit but the way theyve been has been amazing and made a difficult situation less painful.
