Brilliant service from Mark and his team as usual - even in these difficult times. We woke up to a cold house and found our boiler was not working. The plumber arrived when expected and managed to get us up and running quickly. Very impressed with the Covid safety as well

I knocked the door asking for help with an injured animal at the very top of the road, having knocked a few other doors and with absolutely no help at all from many other onlookers I was lucky to meet Mr hillery and he was more than happy to help. This is a hero thank you very much animal is making recovery very well. I cannot thank you enough.

My old victorian terrace house was in desperate need of the consumer unit being replaced. After an honest but reassuring visit from Mark, i booked in. Three days later, the wonderful Ian and Jay arrived. The consumer unit was replaced, however as you can imagine, this showed a multitude of sins with the electrics elsewhere in the house. These guys cracked on with it quickly and incredibly professionally. I won't be looking elsewhere for an electrician again. Not all heroes wear capes.

Worst service ever. In March this year, 2019, we had 2 new kitchen worktops replaced & the kitchen sink refitted by these people at a cost of £1,180.80. After the builders left we discovered that the kitchen tap was leaking. This should have been spotted by the builders during the sink refitting. 2 days later the plumber returned, the kitchen tap was replaced, creating a second bill of £196.80. In July, just a few months later, we noticed that a gap had developed between the 2 new kitchen worktop panels where they hadn’t been sealed properly, with damp causing one of the worktops to warp & swell. The laminate veneer is also beginning to peel off. We contacted MJ Hillery & the next day an inspection was made, photos taken, etc. A week later & we still hadn’t heard back from MJH so rang their office. Lady said that no one was available but that she would get someone to rin5 days later I sent an email; no response. Rang again a few days later. Told then that a carpenter would call tomorrow. Carpenter arrived, made an inspection & offered to fit a metal strip with sealant to stop the gap getting any worse. This metal strip & sealant should have been fitted in the first place, 5 months ago. As this gap wouldn’t have developed if the 2 worktops had been sealed/ secured correctly in the first place, I didn’t see why we should settle for a patch-up job. Also, after already paying just under £1.4k to these people I expected the work carried out to reflect this cost & not to have to settle for some 2nd hand version. Rang MJ Hillery a few days later & told again by the lady who answered that no one was available. Explained the situation & said that a new worktop replacement was required. Told that she would pass on my message. 6 weeks later received letter from MJ Hillery stating that, in his opinion, the worktop problem has been caused by the way that they’ve been used since installation & therefore not a fault of the company. Unbelievable! Since installation we have treated these new worktops with care, keeping them dry as much as possible on the days that we haven’t used the dishwasher to wash up. Also, the occasional & inevitable splashes that hit the worktops fall equally between all the worktop seals/ joins, so if this problem has developed from not treating the worktops with care, how come the other seals/ joins made to these 2 new worktops at the same time haven’t warped or become swollen? Because, of course, this problem hasn’t developed by the way that the worktops have been used since installation, this problem has developed as a result of the workmen not sealing/ securing this particular gap correctly in the first place. Almost £1.4k paid to this company just a few months ago & now to be refused after-sales service is just a disgusting way to treat your paying customers. People, avoid, if you don’t want to get ripped off just like we have been.

After a bout of various tradespeople not even turning up to quote for jobs/doing poor jobs, my home renovations where becoming overly stressful. I gave these guys a shot as we use them where I work; I have since used their plumbing and electrical services. Most recently had a chap named Steve come to successfully move a radiator and help with a boiler 'crisis', he was friendly and polite and even took his shoes off! Currently planning the final phase of home renovations that will involve instillation of a window opening in a supporting wall and no doubt will turn to them. Initially I liked that they are local but soon found it invaluable having a company I trust that can help with all those bits I can't/shouldn't DIY.
