Long story, but shows just how good Paul is! I had just moved into a 3 year old "new home" in Earls Barton and had a intermitant RCD earth leakage fault that regularly tripped across and protected half of the electrical circuits of the house on my fuse board. This annoyingly resulted in having no power to sockets, cooker, lights and an outside garage circuit. I had the day before plugged in a new fridge freezer in the garage, loaded it with food when in the middle of the night I noticed that a fan in the bedroom had suddenly stopped working and upon investigation, I found that yet again the RCD on the main board had tripped. I tried to reset the RCD test again and again and after a while noticed the fault appeared to be on the garage circuit. I got Bright Sparks number from the local Earls Barton magazine, and texted and emailed Bright Sparks (Paul) at 3.30 am, ( worrying about the fridge freezer contents going to waste) and got a phone call from him at 8am saying he'd pop in to investigate the fault asap. Paul arrived within minutes, he thoughly tested the garage circuit and it's own additional 2 way fuse board and additional RCD test switches that was connected to the garages sockets and lights and he amazingly kept testing all wires until he found that the steel wired armoured cable (Swa) connection between the house and outside garage appeared to have a live to earth fault on it. We discussed replacing and digging the cable up that had been buried under a patio, when Paul further investigated the SWA gland coming from a junction box on the outside wall of the house and he found that the some 2 inches below the gland, where the original electrician 3 years ago, had installed the Swa cable had slightly knicked the live cable whilst removing the steel strands from the SWA cable and putting the gland into the outside juction. What a detective! What an Electrician. Paul had found that the knick in the live cable would intermittantly touch the steel strands of the armour and a dangerous live to earth fault would occur, therefore setting the galvanised juction box live untill the RCD tripped on the main fuse board. Paul promptly replaced the junction box, with a new bigger box so that he could rewire the connections from the house to the SWA replacing the gland and cutting off the faulty cable to make the connection and swa cable safe again and thus over came the fault and tripping of the RCD. I must say Paul's profesional approach, excellent know how and perceverance in fault finding one of the most difficult electrical conundrums was impressive. I highly recommend Paul, his charge was great value too. Well done Paul. Thanks you. Jonathan. you very much.

I have used Bright Spark electrical on numerous occasions for a variety of electrical jobs at my home and they are always my first choice, I would not wish to go to anyone else. Paul Hyde always responds quickly, does an excellent job for a reasonable price and leaves everything clean and tidy.

Paul is a friendly, helpful and above all knowledgeable electrician. I would not have anyone else doing my electrics.
